What is your latest memory?

Mine is thinking a few seconds ago if I should go downstairs or not and the one before that was, why the hell has the mortgage guy not shown up with my refi papers? The one before that was I really need to get the tax return wrapped up.

Mine was to remember to call my bro to email me my bank statement from last year. So that I could send it to my tax lady, and hopefully put a closure on my taxes.
Other is about bitching about other bit-ch'ers to another ch'er, and that ch'er finding the irony in it all. Oh, another memory is of eating a small pack of muffins after dinner inspite of my kids telling me not to.
And ugly ugly memory of being stuck with something at work today, and not being able to finish it. That one may haunt me in the sleep tonight.

Obbattu is a pretty common sweet for feats in AP and Karnataka (in Maharashtra too, except they call it "Pooran-poli" there).

I love obbattu! My neighbor's in-law visits from Bangalore are eagerly awaited for the hot obbattu's she makes and serves with ghee...heavenly.

My latest memory is sitting in the car with sun drenching me warmly as I scoop up half-a-scoop of mango icecream with hot caramel on top with no care in the world, reading a draft of healthcare innovation paper.

I heard that you can mail order them from the Pittsburgh temple cook. I believe his wife makes them. I've tasted an obbattu at an Indian get together recently and heard that they ordered from Pittsburgh. It tasted pretty good, as good as homemade.

I learned to make authentic obbatt from my Mom. I am kinda expert in making obbatt and Kajjaya. But for now I am expert in making only for 4. Nothing like someone cooking it for u and serving it with hot ghee. Sigh!
In CA there is this place that sells pooran poli...it is okay.

With a name like Ekadasi, you should not be thinking of Obbuttu....
Talking of laddu, my grandma used to make laddu of roasted wheat flour with sugar and a touch of ghee. hm...ok.. project for next weekend....low-calorie, low sugar wheat flour laddu...
Straight from the memories of my grandmother (- reminds me of yet another episode with my grandfather.)
