So U, you are the Editor making the assignments..feel like am interrupting with a "Greetings Ad", *with nothing to sell!

Wanted to post videos.. something energetic and festive:

Last time I shipped sweets/murukku to a friend in NM, it was delayed/opened/inspected and delivered ater a week or so.
So no more shipping.  Almond Burfi and murukku prepared couple of days ago. Wife said if I can help today in the kitchen, Rava Laddu may also be possible.

General Maria says to Brigadier HK..that is cute *salute*!

What's up with the "early, real early" retirement? Goodness, we need good men and women to serve in the Armed Forces.

Hope you are doing well..am sure, the HK family will have plenty of delicious food!

take care.

I missed you all too:)

Hey..I am in no way responsible for the disappearance! Hope FF is doing well and happy- wherever he is (am sure he is!)

Anyways,  was just recently talking to someone in the old Sulekha crowd..10+ years is a long time..to "e-know" people. Many are in Fb (in different groups)..and I do interact with them from time to time.

take care.

yes, the family will be having delicious food (i'm on a low GI diet so i'm happy just taking pics. and posting... there's one appended for you at the bottom). highlight of the diwali fare, for me, is the de rigueur jimikand or elephant yam sabzi with hot parathas on diwali day. today is dhanteras -- i don't know its significance but i go out of pocket by a not so insignificant amount of rupees this day every year as the madam shops for jewelry and utensils.

Deepavali/Diwali Greetings 2013-117

while i am at it, here's what the younger whisked for himself this evening. some will say yuck but to me it looks quite tasty. Smile

Whoa..that is a very enticing display HK!

I love all Indian sweets..have to watch-control myself.

Oh, what your son prepared for himself - looks tasty too.

Do you know what "kothu parotta" is - chopped up parottas, usually leftovers with ground meat (optional), veggies, eggs..it's quite tasty too.

I think everything comes down to portion size- "moderation" in quantity.

Kothu parotta looks good! Thanks for the link for I am going to try this. I love street food but never thought of mixing parathas with meat and spices into a bhel puri. :p

Hello DUT!

Good to see you, glad I did not miss you today! I am doing okay, thanks for asking.

Hope you are doing well.

I can see how the cured pork food items can make one want to quickly eat - all of it!
I have cut back on meats, but still enjoy well cooked dishes, and prefer ham to some other meats like turkey.

take care.

Hello TBT!

Funny..Mr. Busy Indian "I can't keep up" in the USA:)

I think the official date this year is Nov 3..but, many friends seem to be already greeting each other - and celebrating starting tomorrow- Nov 2.

Anyways, hope you are doing well..and keeping up with all the politicial news in the US!

Have to come by during election seasons!
