Being Open Minded?

Post by TruthSeeker on Mon Aug 11, 2014 8:46 pm

Being open minded, and an independent thinker to share their views, to me means - ability to "express" as "who you are".

Truly "Independent" folks are not "reactive", most of the time.

A person may think "A", you read it - focusing on the thought itself - and choose to express "A+", "B", or "C".

The moment you "FAIL" to express yourself "independently" - tells me that you are NOT an independent person, but merely reacting to others.

Random observations on how some folks post in a social media site,
TS.

Independent women is a rare breed. I wish I knew more than 5.

To me, people who "start" a post which is NOT a news item are too far and few in between on this site.

Most merely "react" to "ME", if not to my posts.

Think and discuss.

What's being open minded has to do with being reactive proactive independent?
If I'm open minded, I'll look at all types of responses with an open mind. And not undermine reactive responses.
Close your eyes n imagine what it would be like if people were not reacting to each other, each other's opinions. But saying their independent thoughts which may or may not be in line with what's being discussed. Oh wait. How can we ever have a discussion in such independent envt.
I'm starting to think I misunderstood your msg n took the word independent literally.
I did not fail to express my views though. So I pass. As an independent woman. I think.

And hey! It's a new item for a reason. People are talking about it. What's wrong in starting threads with them?

(-: Satto!

I know you are a free thinking individual.

But I have faced a lot of "personal" responses to my "general" queries.

You are right, a truly open minded person will even take those personal responses with an open mind. Call it my immaturity, and passionate nature.

Thanks again for sharing,
TS.

@Satto - I have been online since 1997. Lot of years.

Somewhere, I decided never to email anyone. Before I came to Sulekha, and met a strong - rather, very strong woman in - QB.

She amazed me, for her strength. Goddess Durga personified, against all the scum that tried to belittle her.

She stands tall.

More than love, I respect such a woman.

And will always,
TS.
