lol, good joke. Smile

Anyway, just beginning to get interested in this. I play some cryptics crosswords on some websites, and an app on the phone. Actually, got addicted last week, and would pull in older too who is prepping for her SAT. My kids got sick of it actually. Coz every once in a while they would hear me exclaim, 'I AM SO SMART', or 'I AM SO STUPID'. I also play cryptograms, that was something I have done for years, but increased now. My kids are tired of me dashing out a quote of wisdom every now and then.

Anyway, the ones I solve are the easy ones. Besides, doing a crosswords gets easier once you have guessed (or cheated) a few words, as seeing the letters there can help you form new words. Yours are still tough for me. Let's see...

ANNAL as a homophone of ANAL is correct.

Yeah, "Record" = ANNAL, "Fussy" = ANAL, and "Fart" is the homophone indicator.

SAWN  (saw+n, n for pole) is correct. Generally, the first thing that comes to your mind is the correct one.
