Some speciality roast strawberry buttermilk ice cream

Mix above in a blender

Instead of Flax seeds, chia seeds could also be used.

okay! am not a fan of smoothies and prefer to eat the fruit as is. i make something like this for my kids - no chia/flax seeds.

some folks use almond milk for their smoothies. a dollop of yoghurt(vanilla?) instead of ice cream is another option.

Flax seeds is one of the few nutrition sources, besides walnuts and oily fishes like salmon, of heart healthy omega 3 acids. Chia seeds are very nutritious as well and high in protein and fibre. Wheat germ is also nutritious.

I shall try this with almond milk for variety.

I have actually made the smoothie with plain yoghurt also ( just the yoghurt, no milk). When I do so I make it like a strawberry lassi. Since I am adding water to the smoothie I end up using a little raw honey to the concoction.

Yes banana is a good idea. Also kiwi. ( I like golden kiwi a lot more than the green kiwi.) Can't use ice though since I am using a cheap immersion blender which can't handle ice. I might purchase a fancy bamix immersion blender in future which can not only crush ice but can also grind and make fresh garam masala for you.
