did you mean that you let your kids introduce that band to you, and now you're hoping that they love you more because you've been exposed to something other than bollywood music?

eh? only fools think that one needs to stick to only one brand of anything. You got to diversify and enjoy everything, Vee. My kids turned out like me. They are not stuck up with any particular thing and they are not conscious about what they enjoy and what they don't, like some of you here. There's a whole range of stuff that they like.

fyi, we introduced them to bollywood too. Hubby and my younger one went to Sharukh khan's movie, 'happy new year' yesterday. Older one was a dancer, stunt choreographer and manager for his bollywood dance troop in undergrad school. Yes sir, he wrote a nice essay for his med school secondaries on how diversified his interests are and how he can easily fit into any group. They sure liked what he wrote coz he got a full ride.

Yes sir, they sure are introduced to tollywood too. They like Mahesh babu's movies, not Chiranjeevi's.

thanks for the info, kinnera. "turning out like me" was not an objective when we were raising our kids, nor was getting them to love us more. what we didn't do was important; one of them was watching bollywood movies. (we didn't stop them from watching them either, but they didn't.) they turned out unlike either of us in many respects, and both of us are happy about how they did.

"Turning out like me" = totally bindaas; utterly not conscious about the class or mass stuff.  No pretense. Husband is just like me. Naturally, kids turned out like us. Totally cool! No regrets that they did coz we are happy the way we are and are happy the way the boys turned out.
