Australia made three changes as well, Shaun Marsh, Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc in for Clarke and Ryan Harris and Peter Siddle. Whatever happened to the next phenom Pattinson, fast bowler, is he still injured?

why shami? why not varun? pace?
dhawan just threw it away. there was no need to touch that one.
vijay playing better. It will be interesting how india will deal with lyons. It would be shameful to lose another test to lyons.

Every since he boinked Dinesh Karthik's wife, Dinesh game has added on to Vijay's game.

what does "every since" mean? if you say "dinesh game," why don't you say "vijay game?"

Re: Ind vs Aus - 2nd Test
Good days work by India. If they can fight through newball and bat till after tea, India could reach 550.. ( or they could fold for less than 400). A 550 gives Indian attack some help to put pressure on Aussies.
It is not a cakewalk for Aussies in this series but they only felt pressure on the final day during kohli and vijay partnership. India now has a chance to put more pressure on Australia by building a large total.

Good stuff from India. Vijay made most of that drop and another half chance. Comparisons to Ganguly are ridiculous this guy has been much more consistent than ganguly since his comeback. Rahane, after his initial butterflies, near caught & bowled of a miscued pull off of the fourth ball he faced, settled down and played well, hopefully will get a big one. Pujara was unlucky to be given out.
Australia probably has fielded one of the inexperienced batting sides in recent times, not sure Indian bowling is capable of taking advantage of it.

watched the highlights. hope they can add another 100 to 150 runs today. vijay played well today, and i am guessing the oppressive weather worked in his favor reminding him of his home ground, but he and some other batsmen need to step up to make big match winning hundreds like RD and not be satisfied with the ton. right now only pujara seems capable of those kinds of marathon innings.

interesting tidbit on cricinfo: vijay's hundred here is the first by an overseas opener in the first innings at the gabba. it's amazing that so many years of test cricket at the gabba, that landmark was still available for the taking.

Decent performance by India but there is still danger of a quick collapse. Batting is India's strength - at least it is less weaker than the bowling. So they should aim to bat big to stand any chance of winning or drawing.

Debutant Hazlewood takes 5-for. Wonder India would've won the 1st test had Ashwin been picked.

Yes, his batting would have come in handy in the 1st test. As I had said before, Ashwin makes the same or more runs than the so called #6. You can bank on him to dig in and make 25-30.confuzzled dude wrote:Debutant Hazlewood takes 5-for. Wonder India would've won the 1st test had Ashwin been picked.

India got two quick breakthroughs this morning but Smaith & Johnson have added 35 runs already, and Aussies tail is stronger than India's. Hope we can we can get Aussies all out for around 340-350.

They've added 100 runs at 8 per over. Unlucky India again Smith was not given lbw. Hopefully, luck goes India's way in the 2nd dig. First thing is first we need get them out, Dhon's captaincy, field setting was pathetic, bowlers didn't help in either.truthbetold wrote:Aussies hammering Indian attack.

Smith is the new Clarke as far as Indian bowlers are concerned. It is a shame the BCCI hasn't found a bowling attack that can regularly take 20 wickets.

What happened today explains why Australia is difficult to beat in Australia. They were 8 for 398. Now they crossed 500 and still batting. That hurts Indian morale.
Indian bowling is bad but does dhoni captaincy has anything to do with bowling ineptness?

No explanation but a simple fact as in F A C T:
This explains and proves why it is difficult for India to beat ANY team ANYWHERE.

The guys who are handed the ball these days are joining the team while they are not making money in ads and IPL.
You never know which ones are spot-ball fixers, no-ball fixers, match fixers. They don't have talent anyway.

India is folding fast. Lost 4 wickets in the span of 3 overs. 89/5. They have negotiated Mitchell Johnson reasonably well in this series but not today.

India all out for 224. Australia needs 128 to win. We lost the match yesterday morning when we squandered the opening presented by the opponent to take a first innings lead. Had we had 50 runs first innings lead, 275 would've been a good target to defend,

This team is just not enough and doesn't care either. They are treating this series like extended net practice for the world cup.confuzzled dude wrote:India all out for 224. Hahaha Repeat performance.
Indian were 324/4 on day 1 in a test on previous visit. Lost that test too.
I'm happy to see these businessmen saving their energy for more important things.
I had a glance at Cricinfo and saw Ajit Agarkar explaining nuances of cricket. Ajit Agarkar? commenting on strategy?
Now players and commentators are working together towards cricket's demise.

Re: Ind vs Aus - 2nd Test
Australia outmatched India in all three departments. Australia's fielding, especially, catching has been superior in this series. OTOH, Virat dropped a regulation catch (in slips) yesterday when Smith was in single digits, not that it would've made a difference to the outcome but would've put Australia under pressure. In any case, we lost the plot in the second hour of first session on Day 3. A bit of determined batting in second innings would've helped recover but our middle order decided to take a day off. Worst of all, this match appears to have created a rift in the dressing room with Dhawan's inability/decision to not come out to bat on 4th day morning. It looked like our top order bats wanted to avoid facing Australian bowling in the first hour, at any cost.

Re: Ind vs Aus - 2nd Test
http://www.espncricinfo.com/australia-v-india-2014-15/content/story/812343.htmlBecause if the umpire has given out, you take DRS, it is still out, because DRS is often used to justify the decision given by the umpire. What is important is to use DRS to give the right decision irrespective of whether the umpire has given it out or not out.
I agree with Dhoni. In this series, umpires appears to have made up their minds that Indians can't play short ball and their decisions were based on that mindset so DRS wouldn't have been much of a help.
