Your father-in-law is very egoistic. He feels that not accepting gifts from others is idealistic and by strictly adhering to it, his ego gets a huge boost. He doesn't care how rude he was being to the new girl who came into his family and how much he was hurting her. He was even blind to the affection and good will that ur dad showed in buying him that gift. All he cared was to put across the point abt how idealistic he was. Jeez! Hota hai. Different ppl, diff mentalities. vot2do.

PS: I am yet to catch up on a lot of your previous episodes. I wasn't a regular to 'such' at that time and didn't get to read all of them. Will do that soon.

Nice - another series in the offing?

I forgot what happened on the day he left - have to revisit your earlier series.

typing from memory - last day before he left was marred with delays in meeting, heightened emotions, tears, anger, confusion...
