Aug. 25, 2020:

Kapil Sibal, a veteran Congress leader, was among those who signed the letter calling for sweeping organisational changes and "full-time, visible leadership"

>>>  Hopefully,

(1) the poverty in India will go away as people start having no more than two children per family (couple) thus limiting India's population which in the last 72 years had quadrupled (become about four times) from 33 crore (330 million) in 1947 (the time of Independence) to 140 crore (1400 million or 1.4 billion) at the end of 2019;

(2) rather than the secular in name only because of several religious laws in use officially in India currently, India will become a real secular nation due to the implementing UCC (uniform civil code: one law nationally for everyone irrespective of religion, race, gender and caste) to replace the present multiple religious laws in use officially for different communities;

(3) the democratic process in Indian elections will improve resulting in a greater transparency, accountability and expeditiousness in the selection of Govt. leaders (chief minister or prime minister) as the political parties start declaring officially the names of their potential Govt. leaders (chief ministerial candidates or prime ministerial candidates) before the state (Vidhan Sabha) or federal (Lok Sabha) elections; and

(4)  the caste system, casteism and caste discrimination will end in Indian society as the help given by Govt. to people in India, including in education and jobs, will be based on poverty and economic necessity and not according to caste (the ancestral family occupation including as OBC, SC etc.).

Regarding #3 above, the political parties in India definitely need to declare the names of their chief ministerial and prime ministerial candidates before the state and parliamentary elections and have them also run in the elections to win seats as MLA or MP before they can assume the office as chief minister or prime minister.

What has happened in India so far in this regard, parties not declaring the names of their potential Govt. leaders (next CM or PM) before the elections, has rendered Indian electoral process as toothless and without any accountability and transparency.

As a result, a CM or PM in India was usually in the past showing more loyalty towards the party bosses and select interest groups which could have handed him / her the office of CM or PM  after the elections, instead of having any loyalty and responsibility towards general voters who never knew that he was to be the next CM or PM and they didn't even get a chance to vote for him / her as MLA or MP.
