slate magazine analayzes trump

interesting, but anomalous article:

https://www.google.com/amp/amp.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/politics/2016/11/how_to_manipulate_donald_trump.html?client=ms-android-metropcs-us

why anomalous? because the people of the united states freely elected trump their president. even if one claims that he didn't win the popular vote, the people of the populous and important states gave him their majorities.

by definition, the u.s. deserves this crude, vacuous, moron. read what the author, stubborn nationalist that he is, says in the last few lines of his article:

"People in other countries have dealt with presidents like Trump for a long time. Can we handle it? Yes, we can.People in other countries have dealt with presidents like Trump for a long time. Can we handle it? Yes, we can."

in other words, "the greatest and most powerful country on earth" will survive trump just as the people of zimbabwe have survived robert mugabe!

in my eyes, the indian-american here will never live down the.humiliation of trump's presidency.

More people in the Indian American community are coming out of the woodwork who voted for Trump. I am glad I do not have a Facebook page, otherwise arguing with these people will consume me totally.

There was an article this weekend in the Times about middle-aged and old people in FL who rely on the healthcare law for health insurance coverage, but who voted for Trump. They didn't like Hillary enough to vote for her, but hope that Trump will not undo the ACA, or will have a hard time undoing it.

i remember watching on oprah show in which this woman finds that her new husband sxeually abused (or tried to) her two sons. she still loved him enough to keep the marriage, or she could not think of any other option or something. Her super plan was that she will always be alert enough to never let him be alone with her sons. Should work, right? nope, of course it didn't. You can't chose a wrong guy and keep hoping he doesn't do wrong things, or keep hoping that you will always be able to prevent him from doing wrong things, especially if it concerns your kids' safety. of course she learned the lesson the hard way, when he did abuse the sons again, before it eventually hit her she can't control him, and put him to justice.

Cometh the hour, cometh the man. I don't understand why people are tearing their hair out in frustration over Trump's astonishing(to some) rise. I have been saying well before the election that there is lot of voter angst that elites and liberals don't feel and Trump is the beneficiary of it. He just landed in the right place at the right time. Since 2008, the election has always been about the economy, not ideology.

Remember how "experts" said dems are on a long hiding to nothing after the defeat in 2004? They said Karl Rove is an evil genius who energized the evangelical Christians to go out and vote republican, and his strategy would have a long lasting impact on US elections, with the democrats perhaps struggling forever to retake power.

Then fast forward a few years to where Obama thumped his opponents, with voters overlooking  his inexperience, trusting him to be a "non insider" who would make things better for them. Obama didn't win because of ideology, he won because of voter discontent with the state of the economy and their anger at wall street looters. Again, the "experts" said the balance of power had tipped heavily in favor of democrats because of the addition of young voters, minorities, latinos, etc to the voters' list and that the Republicans would have a tough time to overcome this huge demographic disadvantage.

After 8 years of Obama's presidency, we have the same story repeating itself. Voters are unhappy, and despite the threat of things going to hell in a hand-basket, they picked Trump over Hillary. How did the Republicans overcome the huge demographic disadvantage to grab power again? Did America become racist, misogynistic overnight? Not at all. Once again, the economy is the reason. As long as elites turn a blind eye to working class folks, history will keep repeating.  Voters know nothing's gonna change, but at-least they can vote to say "fuck you!".

Instead of spending a billion dollars on an election campaign, I wonder why politicians can't spend 200 million each in the swing states to generate employment and cause economic revitalization. In each Presidential election, it all boils down to the swing states. All you need to do is generate enough goodwill in those states to secure power for your party.

not very hard to understand. same reason as the other "smart" americans, the chinese-americans.

http://such.forumotion.com/t39666-why-some-first-gen-chinese-immgrants-support-trump
legal vs illegal immigration, AA, dislike of blacks and hispanics etc.
that writer tries to be politically correct and tries to explain the reasons for crime rate among blacks etc , but most indians and chinese can look through PCism.

my lolu is directed only towards his blind copy-pasting. i would not mock at his financial circumstance eventhough i am sure that he will do it if the roles are reversed.
