I have absolutely no idea as to why anyone would choose it?

At least I am born with all my body parts.

But why would anyone choose this body?

And then destined to become attached?

Why?

Are we punished to be born, or do we have a choice?

Our attachment to the body is way lower than the attachment to our own mind - ideas, opinions, biases etc. If one lives long enough viz. into 90s and as each body part becomes minimally functional then the attachment to the same body wears out. But Mind is a Beast of a different magnitude.

My point was - Since you have this body, brain, and breathing - You get attached to things and people outside this body.

Not to this body.

Body is the ONLY way you get attached to "Maya" - to this "World" - and everything and everyone that exists on this planet.

You took my usage of the word "attachment" in a totally different direction.

If this body does not have a breath, this Universe does not exist for us.

Ever held a dead body in your hands, which looks alive?

Thats my point.

Regards,
TS.

If by Body you already meant all of the Physical (mind, body and breath/life force within) then yes almost all kArmik attachments are due to that.

Whose body and whose attachment.

My post was not towards attachment to one's own body, but.....

Body as a mechanism to develop attachments, attachments outside this body... your mother, father, sister, bro, friends, son, daughters, to travel to Nigeria and so on.

This body of ours is the ONLY mechanism to develop attachments.

Without this body, none exist.

Attachments only find their way through a living body.

TS.
