reading Vaiyapuri Pillai's insightful analysis makes it very clear that Sanskrit played a pivotal role in the development and enrichment of the Tamil language.

i am impressed with the fact that not only did Tolkappiar borrow ideas from the famous sanskrit grammarian Panini, he also borrowed ideas from Panini's most famous commentator Patanjali. This is in keeping with what the Rig Veda teaches us: ''Aano bhadra krtavo yantu vishwatah''(1.89.1 rigveda). "Let noble thoughts come to me from all directions”.
