wisdom says: as always, like everything, it's contextual and age dependent; dealing with flaws, it's all a matter of time; eventually, with age, one gets used/tolerate/oblivious to it - for the greater good Wink

If you're an intelligent person: - You'll try to do what(you) love most,
If you're a genius, you will do just what is needed.

"It requires hard work and commitment, just like your career or it just fades away"

BS. Love happens automatically, without any logical reason. You can't work hard to maintain it.

didn't watch the video...

some people are lucky and find the match they love and are in love with. I have seen many such couples around me. Many others who don't get this, are reasonably happy too, seen those too. Yes, it's work. You can't just find love and take it for granted. How everyone reasons or philosophizes it, to each on their own. I can only speak for myself. I did go through the phases where I fell in love with the same man over and over again, and was mostly happy with my marriage. But at one point, it was just love, and the word marriage no longer made sense to me. Guess I am also doing things 'for the greater good', and 'what is needed'. But at the same time, I am claustrophobic by nature. I would have stifled and died inside if I was made to continue in a marriage I no longer believed in.  And my kids would not have seen the real me, but a largely (no pun there) ugly, bitter woman. So in that sense, guess I too did what was needed. In my case though, it didn't fit the bill society appreciates or understands. So I still pretend in events. we still call each other husband and wife where it doesn't matter to us. We keep a sense of humor around it. And in my mind I know whatever I do is willingly, not forcefully, and that alone helps me breathe.

True Love?

I read the first 3 points in the link, and then stopped.

I realized that its been authored by a person who has no kids.

Its very easy to find the characteristics of true love.

True love is not just about man-woman.

But if one seeks the characteristics, its easy to identify them with your kids.

How do you love your kids?

Thats true love.

And yes, its not only hard, unconditional, and forever, its a source of serious heart-ache. Knowing all this, it persists.

Love is an absolute, akin to Truth (with a capital T), rarely found,
TS.
