The Congress on Tuesday criticised the government for not objecting to the United States reference to "Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir" in designating Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin as a global terrorist. "Shocking that US government order on Syed Salahuddin refers to 'Indian Administered J&K'. No protest from Modi government; complicit sell-out?" AICC chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala tweeted.

Surjewala has a point. Looks like, Jaishankar is carried away by the appearances at the meeting. The US was one of countries that created trouble for India at the UN on Kashmir for a long time. Only recently (after Jr. Bush) they moderated that position (but not abandoned).
