Wow! Read how HT marvels in giving religious color to a mob-violence. Amazing!

This could be a discussion in editorial room.

Jornalist: A man-died in remote village, killed by mob after plowing motorcycle in crowd.
Editor: OK. That's mob thrashing. What else is exciting in this?
Jornalist: Happened in a remote village.
Editor: OK. That is still not exciting to make this a big news.
Jornalist: Motorcyclists were Muslims.
Editor: So what? Muslims drive a lot of things and accidents happen.
Jornalist: The man caught after thrashing Motorcyclists is a Hindu.
Editor: Fine! Were they all Hindus?
Jornalist: Don't know.
Editor: Ok. Put this in title, "Muslim man lynched after motorcycle rams into cyclist". More people will click and you know this will create buzz for online discussion.

ADDENDUM
Editor: You never know. The secularists, Congress, Communists, Laloo, Maya may pick this news item and show how India is becoming more intolerant under Modi.

That folks, is Hindustan Times editorial for you

A motorcycle-borne man was lynched by a mob after he ploughed into a cyclist in Atibara village in the Madnapur area here, police said on Friday.

The incident took place on Tuesday. Nabi Ahmad and his friend Ajmat Ullah were riding a motorcycle, which hit a cyclist, Sunil.

Soon after the incident, a crowd gathered in the street and started thrashing Nabi and his friend.

They were seriously injured in the attack and rushed to a hospital, where Nabi died during treatment. Ajmat’s condition is “serious”, the police said.

An FIR has been registered against five persons, including Sunil, under relevant sections of the IPC. A probe is on in the matter.
