Chennai, often called as cultural capital of South India, joined the elite club of world cities on Tuesday when it was included in Creative Cities Network of Unesco for its contributions to music.

Yeah. When it comes to SI culture, I prefer Chennai to Hyderabad (don't know much about Bengaluru but it can't be as bad as Hyd).garam_kuta wrote:that irreversible decadence was self-wrought by people's wrong choice of leadership...but then, that is the fate of all famous metropolis - none has ever reversed and recovered its glory, in full - be it egypt, rome, paris, london, new york and so on without an exception.

IMHO, it's Bangalore that showed me "live and let live" is the way to go...but then, that was when you needed a sweater in early November, and steam/fog came out when you can see your breath while conversing; no fans in most homes, particularly where we lived - across the lake. It was paradise of civility.
i mourn for the loss, even today.
