from wiki... La La Land is a 2016 American musical romantic comedy-drama film written and directed by Damien Chazelle. It stars Ryan Gosling as a jazz pianist and Emma Stone as an aspiring actress, who meet and fall in love in Los Angeles while pursuing their dreams. 

i had on purpose not watched it in theaters back then, coz it's a musical and i wanted to watch it with subtitles. Although now i think i would have followed the lyrics. it was lying in my queue for ages. Was on dvd which i had ignored all this time. Finally i went through my queue and deleted the movies i really didn't care about, and this came on top. 

loved the movie, as such i end up liking most musicals. had 'that' factor to it where you get drawn into all the emotions of the characters, and it leaves you both happy and sad. Also had that old world charm to it. 

well made, well acted, deserves all the awards it got.
