"Rovelli reminds me of Lucretius, the first-century BCE Roman author of the epic-length poem, On the Nature of Things. Perhaps not so odd, since Rovelli is a fan. Lucretius correctly hypothesised the existence of atoms, a theory that would remain unproven until Einstein demonstrated it in 1905, and even as late as the 1890s was being written off as absurd."

>>> Even before Lucretius (1st century B.C.), atoms as the basic constituents of all matter had been considered in Atomistic Pluralism (the Vaisesika philosophy of Hinduism). Moreover, Dalton's atomic theory on atoms as the basic units of matter was there even before Einstein's time. 'wonder what Einstein did to enhance its acceptance?

There is extensive analysis on space-time and cause-effect relationships in Vedanta. Rovelli's main discussion is on both. Sankara's explanations were more crisp on these.
