The itch

Post by Guest on Tue Oct 02, 2018 3:52 pm

I go to Quora mostly to read and gain something there. I did and continue to do so. Occasionally, I get this ‘itch’ to say something. I resist for the most part, but if the urge is intense, I post. Looks like people like what I say and it’s helping them. Quora sends me a message that the views for my answers crossed half a million and that I am one of the most viewed writers there. Huh?! Surprising as that’s from just the 2-3 answers that I posted. The counter is going up as I am posting this. The upvotes are going up. The follower list is increasing much to my discomfort though.

url=https://servimg.com/view/19978870/1][/url]

Why am I posting this? Of all the years spent here, I haven’t gained much nor have I done anything useful. I wish I had discovered Quora before. Seems like this site is dying and its demise is probably good. Whoever is remaining, go elsewhere and shine! Smile
That said, no I won’t be a regular writer on Quora. Will only do so occasionally.

Btw, since you claim now to be a part of Varnashrama, perhaps you should start posting under your real name / ID.

PA, that was a beautiful profile / picture you posted. Why did you remove it later, before even we had a chance to comment?

oh so you saw it Smile. I was going to remove it once you saw it anyway. I thought i’ll be more comfortable sharing a pic than my real name, so did it. But I didn’t feel too comfortable having it here for too long either eventhough there’s hardly anyone here. So took it out Smile.

It’s been raining cats and dogs since we landed in costa rica yesterday. I am here at the Manuel Antonio park waiting outside while the rangers are dilly dallying whether to open it or not for safety reasons (falling branches and all). Looks like they may not open it today. That will be disappointing! Sad We drove three hours to reach here. The drive was awesome. Beautiful rain forests all along.

So, you are already in Costa Rica. Too bad your visit to park started with rain -- 'hope it stops. Have fun anyway, rain or shine!

Once upon a time this place was thriving too. That's why the remaining few us have a soft corner for it and peep in once in a while though this place is pretty much dead. Enjoy Quora without getting caught up too much in online drama.

Yeah, Silver. Years of association with this place has made it hard to get it out of the system totally. I too keep peeking here once in a while and post eventhough there’s hardly anyone here.
As for quora, yes I am treading carefully there.

Just done with my second painting. Experimented with some color mixing, blending and layering.

Third painting, an abstract. It was tough. Yeah, a long way to go...

Yeah...that’s what abstracts are all about Smile. You deduce what you want to from it. I won’t tell you what I had in mind when I created that Smile. (I took inspiration from an existing painting and developed from it.)
After this one, I have so much respect for abstract painters. It’s not easy to create something out of nothing.

btw, the bird painting above was displayed at an art show last Saturday. It paled in fromt of all those big and beautiful paintings by seasoned artists Sad, reminding me that I have a long way to go before I get there. Anyway, displaying mine among theirs in itself was a thing of pride. I am happy about that Smile

Lighting is everything, I guess. Lol! The other pic of the same painting was taken at night with poor lighting. This one is taken now during the day time with the painting facing the window. Such difference! Of course, I added a layer of gloss to this one, but still..
