was browsing through barnes and noble with a friend to kill time and picked this up. read it over the weekend. really liked the book. Stories of innocent childhood are always interesting. But more than that, it's a personal story which also gives a peak into segregation of the time, especially in the south, which was a new insight for me even though i have read many essays on the topic, maybe because this was so intertwined with a personal story of a little girl of a broken marriage, growing up to be a fierce woman. Increased my understanding on a lot of things...
