Ended up watching this trilogy at castro with my movie group friends.

The trilogy:

Days of being wild: A look at Hongkong in 1960, it is a story of characters who deal with rejections. I thought story wise it is the best of the trilogy. Apart of a sole fighting scene, it film was very well made.

In Mood for Love: A look at Hongkong in 62. Probably well known among the trilogy. The film is about relationship between neighbors whose spouses have an affair. This is the best shot film in the trilogy! Background score was out of the world!

2046: A look at Hongkong from 67-69. This film is probably the worst of the lot. It could use some editing. It tells you story of Mr. Chow after 1967. Mostly his relationships with women who live in the room 2046. The film is a winner for 3 things. cinematography, background score & acting.

Came out as fans of 3 folks:
Christopher Doyle: What an amazing cinematographer!
Tony Leung Chiu-Wai: His performance was terrific!
Shigeru Umebayashi: He scored background for both 2046 & In Mood for Love.
