Yes, I love the guide. I once had a phone cover that said in large friendly letters, "DON'T PANIC." Sad that he died so early. He was so amazingly talented. He had a knack for showing different perspectives.

Yeah, I still recall random episodes from the book. And boy, would I love some to have some of those gadgets!

Like Trin Tragula's Total Perspective Vortex (into which I would love to shove all the drama queens around me who get into breastbeating mode over the most trivial issues). Or the Point of View Gun (from the movie version) which makes the target see things from the shooter's point of view.

And best of all, the Infinite Improbability Drive (which sounds like my daily commute in Mumbai). Would love to see those suicidal motorcyclist punks turn into little tadpoles.

Right now, I could use a Pangalactic Gargle Blaster. Have a 7 am flight to catch. All I got is the cafetaria coffee machine from which I can coax a concoction that is almost, but not entirely, unlike tea.

Not many people have come remotely close to explaining the absurdity of life as Douglas Adams did. Yes, it is really sad that he died young.
