Yes, a beautiful song indeed. The song was sung by Ghantasala + P.B. Srinivas + Raghunath Panigrahi.
Raghunath Panigrahi is from our hometown in Orissa. He sang a half dozen songs in Telugu movies (this song and 'challani raajaa o chandamama" from Ilavelpu come to mind right away), and later devoted his life completely to classical stuff (Jayadeva's Ashtapadis etc.) and singing for his wife (the famous Odissi dancer Sanjukta Panigrahi) when she danced.

I think it was composed by Ghantasala also. Or is it Pendyala Nageswara Rao?

The movie's music director was Pendyala. But sometimes some specific songs were composed by another person. We don't know if that had been the case here. For example, "ekkadamma chandrudu" was composed by Ashwatthama (Veena Gayathri's dad), but the titles don't give him credit for it. Recently a Kakinada girl sang that song beautifully in the "Padutha Theeyaga" competition. I will see if I can get the link and post it here.

Ya, beautiful song! the other two singers sang well too, along with Ghantasala garu. i never realized that P.B Srinivas has such a soothing, sweet voice.

There was another girl Tejaswini who is also good. I am watching that series now. My mom likes Harini & also Anjana Sowmya. I think 'cos of Kakinada where my mom is from.

Wonderful use of metaphors, spot-less depiction of tradition, and excellent rendition of Kalyani raaga. Malladi wrote lyrics. When it was released, it was a very bold decision as it involved inter-caste marriage and breaking down of tradition. I loved Gummadi's action in the movie. He portrayed Viswanadha Sastry's traditional living and atmaabhimaanam wonderfully. Ghantasala was young and it his best.

Yes, I love the way she shows the differences in the sound of "cha" of "chandrudu," "cha" of "chakkanaina," and the "cha" of "chukkalaara." That's pure Telugu and 100% Godavari.
