In my opinion, with the spread of english in India, regional languages like gujarati, tamil, telugu, etc. will become extinct (by which i mean they will become like sanskrit) in the future. Hindi will also become extinct though it will take longer for this to happen. So the language whining seems to be silly and out of place.

I will point out though that english has been absorbing hindi words into its vocabulary( words like 'pundit', 'moghul', etc.) and the english of the future will have even more hindi words (and also perhaps chinese words).

Those whining about tamil, telugu, and hindi are wasting their time since it is inevitable that in the long run all three languages will become extinct.

I was informed of a futuristic TV series in which the people of Earth in future speak English ingrained with several words borrowed from mandarin. This may well be the fate of the English of the future except that it would also have ingrained within it words borrowed from Hindi. In fact the process of English borrowing words has already started.
