wealth and fame last for 3 generations.

Been thinking...looking back for a 100 years, very rarely it has lasted more than 2 or 3 generations. This Meiyappan's Grandfather was a pioneer in South Indian movie industry to this day the AVM emblem/tune is like the MGM lion roar. Same goes with N. Srinivasan - his father was a forerunner of India's cement industry, which was crucial in India's infrastructural development.

Nehru is an exception (or may be not).

really? 3 generations. the one thing i repeatedly heard parents saying was, 'he has earned so much that his next 7 generations will live well w/o having to work'

yes...ppl say that....but after 3 generations hardly people remember anyone from that rich family... Of course they may still live comfortably - but, that is not the point I am making.
