I am surprised that "rasam" is not in English lexicon yet. It's a pretty common word. Wonder why if "bandicoot" and "cummerband" made into dictionaries, "rasam" could not. Well if "chicken tikka curry" is now veddy British English (so much so that it's declared the national dish), so would "rasam" in due course.Hellsangel wrote:

i am not in favour of non-dictionary words either unless there's some indication that a 'foreign' word is being used. this reminds me of some old, fun cryptics we've had on sulekha for various indian dishes. let me see if i can find those old threads.
