Loss comes into the picture only if Tamil nadu was carved out of AndhraPradesh. if anything Tamil Nadu should be compensated for the loss of Andhra and Hyderabad and Tirupathi...

This is like Pakisaitan whining about the loss of Kashmir and Hyderabad to India.

anyway 40% is bullshyt.... Madras had almost 30% "ancestry" in 47. They are a decent fraction (20-25% tops) in Coimbatore/Erode/Salem area.  But, this telugu population migrated in the 16 and 17th centuries and even the Gults in Andhra consider this lost telugus as second class and dont marry much into this second class gult population.

Hey...no Gult is killed or riots initiated or threatened as the telengans are doing to their first-rate Andhrans.

"In 1968, I had to face a serious law and order situation, immediately after my appointment as a Sub Collector of Hosur sub-division.  Hosur is a trilingual border town of Tamil Nadu, about 25 kms. from Bangalore.  That was my first posting in charge of a revenue subdivision.  SDMs used to be designated as Sub collectors if they belonged to the Indian Administrative Service.  Hosur town had a population of about twenty thousand, speaking Telugu, Kannada and Tamil in that order.  An over enthusiastic and reckless highways supervisor converted all Highway signboards around Hosur town from Telugu into Tamil, as what he perceived as a part of his legitimate duty.  This sparked off a massive agitation by the local Telugu and Kannada population.  The agitation was led by the local independent M.L.A. Kodandaramaiah who was a very clean honest and sincere leader adored by the people. "

all three States should make effort to make these people comfortable.
Tirupati devasthanam makes some effort to post signs in five languages Telugu, English, Hindi, Tamil and Kannada. There is lot of scope for improvement in these efforts but it could be a reasonable starting idea. These three cultures are the closest among all Indian cultures.
