New Delhi: With the 2014 Lok Sabha elections approaching, war of words between the two principal parties Congress and BJP has intensified. On Monday, Finance Minister P Chidambaram lashed out at BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and took potshots at his blog that 'expressed pain over 2002 riots'. He claimed that Modi was yet to apologise for the communal carnage and added that no one is "unbeatable" when it comes to elections.
In an exclusive interview to Network18, Chidambaram took on Modi saying, "I thought Christmas spirit had imbued Modi. Thought he was going to utter the word that thousands were expecting, apology. He did not apologise. I don't think Modi has come to terms with enormity of what happened."
"He used many words in his blog but did not apologise," Chidambaram continued.
