3.   Star twinkle in daylight. ( 8 )  
4.   Sort the French arouse. (6) 
5.   Chinaman’s target is butt. ( 5 )
6.   Old expensive violin returned for local game. (5)   
7.   Crop produced by real cultivation. (6)  
8.   Shake a container for arrows. (6) 
9.   Torment a light bearer aloud. (7) 
10. Stains on top of dress, that’s right! (4)
