Pawan Kalyan & Jana Sena
Why did Pawan Kalyan (Telugu matinee idol) start the Jana Sena party (JSP) when he never wanted to contest in elections? What are the objectives of his Jana Sena party? Just to support from outside? What if someone takes the JSP support from the outside, and then simply forgets them? The most that can happen is that the candidate will not have JSp's support in the next election (if JSP would be around then). That's enough time to wipe the khajana clean as Raja, Kanimozhi, Jagan and other crooks have proved.

Pawan seems to be an unstable and disorganized guy. he may have some youth following but he may not make an impact on his own. i doubt if he can transfer his fan votes to anyone. Tdp is wasting its energies wooing this guy.
why is he in politics? One : he may contest for mp (despite denials).
two: he may be the escape valve for chiranjeevi family. when congress gets swept out in India and ap , he may be able to use bjp for his personal and family needs.
in any case, this political episode is a flop.

Re: Pawan Kalyan & Jana Sena
I actually think it is a good Move if you consider that his goals is to retain leverage for some future benefit. We do not know yet what it is.
a) It ring fences Kapus to Pawan, since the other Kapu Leader Chiranjeevi is now part of the Anti-Seemandhra Congress, and there is a danger of Kapu's now going to various parties. (TDP/Lok Satta etc..OR the allegedly corrupt Jagan's YSRC)
b) By not asking for a seat, he has basically declared that his intentions are higher than personal benefit (end result more credibility with people)
c) On a personal note, it is sort of difficult to quantify his support base and this works to his advantage. Any success in any constituency with substantial Kapu votes can be attributed to him. So he can claim any sort of political Hold and nobody will be able to rebut his claim.
d) it leaves him free to modify the Message/Goals of his party as and when it is required, based on situation, since he is not actually in power.
The downside is that, he cannot attribute percentages to him because his party did not contest. However, he does not have to invest any money, and still wield notional power.
So he always comes out positive, since he can continue to be the voice of Kapu Sub-culture.

He probably started the party now to get into politics and even run in elections later, after he quits the movies and is not a matinee idol anymore.
The political party started by him now will have a solid base later when he jumps into politics. Moreover, there might even be a few political favors to him by other parties for his party's support to them now. Smart guy. Definitely not unbalanced or kook.

You mean........ He may be making more money (just by "lending" his support to other political parties)? Smarter than his brother! :-)Seva Lamberdar wrote:indophile wrote:Why did Pawan Kalyan (Telugu matinee idol) start the Jana Sena party (JSP) when he never wanted to contest in elections? He could be reaping the benefits now for lending support to them presently and also might ask them later to return the favor (help him in future in return his present support to others).Vakavaka Pakapaka wrote:You mean........
