Also a simple request to Rashmun. Please listen to this song and get a translation of the lyrics and enjoy. The mridangam is too good and that too when I listen to this in AIWA stereo connected to PC.
Following is the same song from the movie.
Enjoy...
Beautiful rendering of "EllAm inbamayam" by Nithyasri and Alka (I believe that's the girl's name who I remember winning the top prize at Junior Airtel competition). Thanks for posting, Flutie.

Re: What are you listening to right now?
Tamil question to those who know. In this song, the way 'alavu' pronounced is wrong I guess. Being a folk/local song, I assume the pronunciations would be correctly sung. The difference is suttle but still I see it as aberration.
The dappankuttu dance (partly) is not suited for this song..
Song without lyrics..

Re: What are you listening to right now?
what an amazing song!!! cutting crew
Oh I, I just died in your arms tonight
It must have been something you said
I just died in your arms tonight
I keep looking for something I can't get
Broken hearts lie all around me
And I don't see an easy way to get out of this
Her diary it sits on the bedside table
The curtains are closed, the cats in the cradle
Who would've thought that a boy like me could come to this
Oh I, I just died in your arms tonight
It must've been something you said
I just died in your arms tonight
Oh I, I just died in your arms tonight
It must've been some kind of kiss
I should've walked away, I should've walked away
Is there any just cause for feeling like this?
On the surface I'm a name on a list
I try to be discreet, but then blow it again
I've lost and found, it's my final mistake
She's loving by proxy, no give and all take
'cos I've been thrilled to fantasy one too many times
Oh I, I just died in your arms tonight
It must have been something you said
I just died in your arms tonight
I keep looking for something I can't get
Broken hearts lie all around me
And I don't see an easy way to get out of this

bocelli and brightman singing "time to say goobye." he's blind from congenital glaucoma. worth a listen.

When I'm alone
I dream of the horizon
and words fail;
yes, I know there is no light
in a room where the sun is absent,
if you are not here with me.
At the windows
show everyone my heart
which you set alight;
enclose within me
the light you
encountered on the street.
Time to say goodbye. -- I'll go with you
to countries I never
saw and shared with you,
now, yes, I shall experience them.
I'll go with you
on ships across seas
which, I know,
no, no, exist no longer;
it's time to say goodbye. -- with you I shall
experience them.
When you are far away
I dream of the horizon
and words fail,
and, yes, I know
that you are with me;
you, my moon, are here with me,
my sun, you are here with me
with me, with me, with me.

Re: What are you listening to right now?
bloody hell, atif aslam has one golden voice and is a direct musical descendant of kishore kumar in bollywood legend. neither had any formal training by the way.
anyway, got treated to two lovely movies by dad and son in one month. shahid kapoor in this movie (phata poster nikla hero) is at his comical best (no, his comic style is very different from that of his father's). and the other was "matru ki bijli ka mandola." good acting by imran khan -- he is good. but pankaj kapoor... wow. his acting and delivery are inimitable. the movie is a political satire and a good one at that. it is also about an alcoholic (to which i could immediately relate). i watched it thrice -- first time sober, second time tipsy, third time sober again. i asked my wife to watch it. she was about to but i changed my mind and returned the dvd to the dvd store/library.
