Please post any comments about the books you are reading here. This will be a sticky thread in the main coffeehouse forum. Going through the last few posts on this thread will give anyone a good sense of recent recommendations. Enjoy.

Very interesting choice. I presume you are reading the English translation. Whose translation?

Yes, English; I don't know any Farsi. It's a new translation by Dick Davis, published by Penguin Classics.

reading the thousand faces of night by githa hariharan. her debut novel. don't like it -- very angst ridden voice. i might abandon it and move to one of her later novels.

kid just finished reading budding prospects by t. c. boyle. it was my choice -- used to be one of my favourite novels. he's reading east is east by the same author now. his choice.

Water for Elephants - Sara Gruen
loved it. the synopsis did not sound very promising but the book is amazing.

The Go-Giver - Bob Burg and John Mann
had to read it for a book club. one of many motivational books.

Pact - Jodi Picoult
like. very intense feelings described well. unputdownable book.

About a Boy - Nick Hornby
struggling with it. one of those books for guys, imo

next on the list to read: Chanakya's Chant by Ashwin Sanghi
