AK (1711-1779) wrote the rAmanAtakam, the rAmAyaNam rendered in conversational tamil verse as opposed to the highly literary kambarAmAyaNAm written in the strict AsiriyappA meter. here is a beautiful composition of AK in hindOLam - ramanukku mannanai:
