this guy taught me one class and he was a fantastic professor. at the time he was also known as a terrific and driven researcher. it's unfortunate that lately the central govt (the previous congress govt and now the modi govt too) has been too intrusive in the affairs of the institutes, so much so that good people don't want to serve in leadership positions.
