.....Aruna Shanbaug, a nurse who was in a vegetative state for more than four decades after she was brutally raped in 1973, died on Monday in Mumbai’s KEM Hospital after a bout of pneumonia.

I was going to remove the thread. But, looks like her death is restarting the debate on "Mercy Killing"

If this is allowed, it will become rampant in India. With the corrupt system and the disregard for oldies, and the "chalthe Hai" attitude, the retired and "useless" oldies will be Mercilessly killed.

Unless there is a prior authorization combined with court jurisdiction this should not be allowed in India.
