You guys spend tooo much time on low-life Rashmun.
He's complete shame for an Upadhyay. I feel bad about his family.

So you mean munni failed in uni of British Columbia?
To fail in the USA is one thing. But to fail in kanada? That's like adding insult to injury lol.

Don't underestimate the University of British Columbia. It is ranked among the top 30 research universities in the world!Meghna Mathur wrote:So you mean munni failed in uni of British Columbia?

So, perhaps, that explains why Rashmun hasn't done well there. He is trying hard to peddle himself as an expert in many things in which his knowledge is either flawed or non-existent. He opened a site similar to Sulekha and asked people to participate. No one responded. He is trying to cope with disappointment by creating several avataras of himself that praise Rashmun.

UBC is highly ranked in the world....It is just due to ignorance among th Americans that makes it appear like 2nd tier univ.
that too UBC PhD is highly valued. Failing in that program is a missed golden oppornity.

Oh of course the uni is great. It's about Canada. Pretty much everyone I know, may have had whatever experience anywhere else, and then they go to Canada and have a happy ever after. In my experience everyone have done well and hence that perception. It's just funny to see someone fail there. I think in the dialect Brie is also joking how people of eastern UP sent him to that university with high hopes and he returned with a zero. Can't help it. I have nothing but disdain for rashmun. Nope I can't even make believe that he is mental and feel sorry for him. Besides, it's funny to say he failed a PhD program if he didn't even finish his masters there. Did he?

he's a sick mind and not every sick person has a mental illness that can be treated, unfortunately, unless you call bata chappal beatings a legit treatment. i have no concern whether my posts will hurt him, coz i am pretty sure they won't. Most likely, he might be delighted anytime anyone mentions his name here. He is beyond being really hurt. He merely pretends to be. If the admin was active here, we would have seen titles after titles by him, of admin letting people use someone's purported real name. I can safely assume he has not uttered a single word about it this time. Instead, i am seeing titles after titles of people on this board or their spouses, something he otherwise takes a big moral stand on. he's probably going by the assumption that he will be able to sling mud at brie by posting shyt about me (nope, not 'stop' brie. he doesn't anyone to stop posting shyt. He spends his entire brain cells WANTING people to post shyt). A hugely wrong assumption anyway. I am nowhere in that brie-rashmun equation. But he can go and keep himself busy.

lol, you sure?
Many students, especially those coming from India, enroll in PhD programs. It helps them gain a grant/assistantship/scholarship/etc and all. Free ride for masters. But many would get out after 3 semester of Masters degree and get jobs elsewhere. Some stick to their original plan/commitment and stick around for years. Atleast this is what I saw among fellow students back then.
For years the perception propagated here has been he dropped out during PhD program. guess it's more 'honorable' to be kicked out during PhD? I thought for years that he may have done his masters and then wasted years for PhD before eventually falling out. What a way to mislead people, if that's the case.

no they don't. only some unscrupulous and unethical indian students do. the universities of course have stepped up their own game and have made requirements for ph.d. onerous enough (at least in the engineering programs i am familiar with) to weed out these unethical twerps before they can cheat unsuspecting faculty members out of precious and hard won research dollars.

true.... i learned about it only after coming here. and sat through it when one of my friends was going through a huge moral dilemma about quitting after masters. in that case, it was a real change of mind or career plan and the concern that the professors would feel cheated.

ok...ok...agreed you are THE expert in anything concerning econ.
But, there are other things in this world and spend some time outside of it. If someone comes to about adivise views on eng, audiology, or YemBeeAA it look like you will peddle your 1-d knowledge about econ to them.
UBC is a top 30 univ in a lot of areas - not just Econ. It competes with McGill for the 2nd best in Canada in many areas. Waterloo, McMaster are other schools that are QUITE good - but not thot of greatly by the Amerikaans.

in science and engineering in the US -- federally funded grants run three to five years, roughly in line with a typical ph.d. so most universities these days have gone to a system where the first preference (to spend research funding) is for students who already come in with significant research experience demonstrated through papers or credible recommendation letters and are clearly interested only in the ph.d. degree. this often means students who already come in with a masters degree.
there are industry funded grants, typically of shorter duration and more focused scope which are more suitable to fund masters students. with this exception, most places have started looking at the masters degree as a cash generating machine that feeds the research infrastructure, and IMO so it should be. it is better to be open with one's intentions from the get go so there are no misunderstandings if one's wish is to have a lasting and mutually beneficial relationship with one's alma mater.

you'll find a list of the latest salaries for such positions at about a dozen public universities, including u.c.l.a., u.c. san diego, and u of michigan, in about the sixth post of the second page. they are likely to be reliable figures, because, being public universities, their salary data are in the public domain.
u.c.l.a. pays 120k. private universities pay more. they also pay an addirional 2/9 of that amount for.summer support, at least in the first couple of years.
these salaries are determined largely by market forces. thus the salaries of starting ph.d.s in tenure-track APs' positions in other fields and environments will be considerably different.

UBC is highly ranked in the world....It is just due to ignorance among th Americans that makes it appear like 2nd tier univ.
that too UBC PhD is highly valued. Failing in that program is a missed golden oppornity.
Oh of course the uni is great. It's about Canada. Pretty much everyone I know, may have had whatever experience anywhere else, and then they go to Canada and have a happy ever after. lol, you sure?
Many students, especially those coming from India, enroll in PhD programs. It helps them gain a grant/assistantship/scholarship/etc and all. Free ride for masters. But many would get out after 3 semester of Masters degree and get jobs elsewhere. Some stick to their original plan/commitment and stick around for years. Atleast this is what I saw among fellow students back then.
For years the perception propagated here has been he dropped out during PhD program. guess it's more 'honorable' to be kicked out during PhD? I thought for years that he may have done his masters and then wasted years for PhD before eventually falling out. What a way to mislead people, if that's the case.
no no, he failed master's (of course all enroll for phd when trying master's -- that's default). did/could not qualify for master's. i know ALL about him. send me a pm. i'll give you all details. will hep you fight don quixote, lol.

Princeton prof might make some 200 to 350K after 20+ years. All the other professors in all those other NJ Universities make 100 to 150 K when nearing retirement. And in that region it is not such a big amount considering their qualification and expeerience - compared to code coolies who make 200- 300 K per year (ask Bittu).

"max salary?" I note that you still haven't learnt to say "max's salary." that's like saying - placing the example in context, especially for you - "rukmini underwear" instead of "rukmini's underwear," isn't it?
ah .. your language pedagogy is so 'special' that I see how you must have educated your children...
you had it all, to learn from the city boys and get civilized, but blew it all away... seems more like you were dislocated, and the cultural shock was a bit too much for you, bushman!

rukmini? she's just a woman typical of the 3.75 billion distant women between whose warm and hairless thighs you yearn to park your many foot-long, "penii," but don't know of your existence.Propagandhi711 wrote:swapna wrote:"max salary?" you'll find a list of the latest salaries for such positions at about a dozen public universities, including u.c.l.a., u.c. san diego, and u of michigan, in about the sixth post of the second page. they are likely to be reliable figures, because, being public universities, their salary data are in the public domain.
u.c.l.a. pays 120k. private universities pay more. they also pay an addirional 2/9 of that amount for.summer support, at least in the first couple of years.
these salaries are determined largely by market forces. thus the salaries of starting ph.d.s in tenure-track APs' positions in other fields and environments will be considerably different.
You sound as if anyone with a PhD walks into a TT AP position and that too in top 20-25 univ.
MAX salary is not in the public domain.
who's rukmini? roshniamma's mummy? did you see her undy?
