Dahi handi restrictions
The supreme court has restricted the height of dahi handi on janmashtami to 20 feet .
Is it assault on hindu traditions or is it correct ?

The SC is infringing on Hindus' fundamental right to break their necks. This and the jallikattu ban are an attack on Hindu virility, just to make it easier for Islamic love jihadists to seduce away Hindu women and convert them.

ashwin, what do hindus do with, on, in, for, or to, a dahi hundi? is it filled with yoghurt? is the yoghurt shared by everyone in the village?ashdoc wrote:The supreme court has restricted the height of dahi handi on janmashtami to 20 feet .

are people who are not of your caste or are of "low" caste allowed to share the yoghurt, or are they beaten away with sticks to prevent the pollution (ashuddhification) of the yoghurt?
do you think that the technology used to build very tall hundis can be transferred to the building of large silos for storing grains like rice, wheat, and corn?
can we use the dahi hundi as a military weapon, or should we purchase armed hundis from sweden or france, with licence to manufacture them in india after 2036?

Flimfla/Swapna/Bigot,
Best use of that hundi would be on your head.
Your dirty mind is filled with defecation/naarthpeeple/Caastu.How many days is it since you talked to your 'd'. Are you not ashamed that she refuses to talk to you?

nice however to know that SC is not infringing upon muslims' fundamental right to ill treat their wives by triple talak and is upholding secularism .Merlot Daruwala wrote:The SC is infringing on Hindus' fundamental right to break their necks. Eagerly looking forward to Carvaka posting statistics about handi related accidents with breakdown by category - death, fracture of limbs, spinal injuries, etc.

Syrian Christian Iyers can certainly participate in Dahi Hundi and Jalli Kattu and go to hospitals with cuts, bruises and broken bones.swapna wrote:ashwin, what do hindus do with, on, in, for, or to, a dahi hundi? is it filled with yoghurt? is the yoghurt shared by everyone in the village?ashdoc wrote:The supreme court has restricted the height of dahi handi on janmashtami to 20 feet .

Re: Dahi handi restrictions
Eight years ago, Dayanand Bhadwankar fell off a dahi handi pyramid and injured his spinal cord. The 32-year-old son of a mill worker cannot walk without the help of a walking stick, much less afford medical treatment. To him, the Supreme Court decision to cap the height of human pyramids is positive. Yet, much more needs to be done for financial and logistical support, he says. “When the incident took place there was some help from organisers and the government, but now, there is nobody to help. The doctor has suggested an injection next month that costs around Rs. 2 lakh. With a monthly income of around Rs. 8,000, it’s not possible for us to bear the expense,” says Bhadwankar, who lives with his mother, father and a younger brother at Wadi Chawl, Chinchpokli.

Daruwali aunty is happy that the SC will never infringe on the Muslim breast-beating festival (Muharram). Wouldn't want anything to come in the way of some bleeding(heart) breast-beating!

Yesterday, there were 11,452 accidents across India where the vehicles involved were traveling between 40 mph and 50 mph. SC should decree that all vehicles should henceforth travel below 40 mph or above 50 mph. That will keep everyone safe on Indian roads!

Re: Dahi handi restrictions
It is heartening that ordinary Indians are taking the supreme court decisions on issues like Jalli kattu or Dahi handi in stride and do not make a big fuss. Most Hindus see the dangers involved in these activities and understand the common sense approach by SC. Allowing women into Sabarimalai is an aggressive interference by SC in Hindu traditions. Hindu reaction is quite understanding and acceptance.
In contrast, when SC stepped into divorced women alimony in Shah Bano case all hell broke loose. We know where merlot, and cd stand on such actions of SC.

Rajiv Gandhi's congress party reversed the judgement by passing a law in Parliament.
Celebrate the social maturity of Indian Hindu instead of attacking SC.
Having said all of that, I think Indian SC oversteps its jurisdiction quite often because rest of the systems are in bad shape (ex: Running Delhi EPA because these judges live there or running BCCI or running SIT into different criminal cases). Sensible Indians tolerate this overstepping of limits because they understand at this time in history, no other Indian institution has the public acceptance or political guts to do the unpopular but right thing.

Doc, stop worrying about Muslim women. First take care of Hindu women - they are all easy targets for love jihadis now that you've to sit at home and watch tv instead of going out like a manly man in the streets and mounting other men to break a pot of dahi!

True. Not would I want anyone to curtail your frenzied, limpwristed breastbeating bemoaning all the injustices done to you conquered women.
Without the entertainment you provide, the world would be an infinitely duller place.
