I Miss Empty I Miss

If I miss anything, not that I do it often 
But when I do, I miss 
His youth his rawness his playfulness 
His love his talent his knowledge  
His voice his humor his worldliness  
My youth my ambition my fire
My love my dreams my dedication   
My surrender my adventures my happiness   
I left him, I lost him, I probably never had him 
I grew I learned I got humbled  
I lost the girl the woman the lover in me
Not that I’m bitter, maybe I am better 
But sometimes, I miss my past selves
