The interesting thing is that, most physical exams do not seem to cover mandatory Vitamin D level testing. For a organic compound that our body cannot make, this ought to have been the case.

most physical exams do not seem to cover mandatory Vitamin D level testing

That is changing now. Doctors are ordering Vitamin D profile test as routine and suggesting vitamin D supplement. Interestingly even 30,000 IU, taken one tablet per week, is available over the counter without prescription.
Compare that 400 IU RDA for Vitamin D!

the study was done in Copenhagen where infertility and low birthrate is a problem..all the scandinavian countries I guess.
