I was thinking randomly.

About human life.

How a child grows up.

First seeks maan, seeking approval from older, seeking encouragement, inspiration.

Then comes seeking swabhimaan, as a teenager. Swah = Self. rowing self-confident, questioning everyone and everything.

Then comes Abhimaan, ego. Ego of youth. Strength. Disrespect for anyone weak. Dreams.

And then only comes Sammaan.  Sam+Maan. Sam = Equal. Equal respect for all. An old person only seeks to have equal respect to all.

Interesting Maan!

Random musings,
TS.

TS, good to see you here.

Since you are in a philosophical mood, just wanted to share this quote I read recently. Kind of simple and pithy.

"There is no pillow so soft as a clear conscience."

I sleep on hardwood floors, for last 10 years :-)

Soft pillow is not what I seek.

Point being - Philosophy can never be quoted with a "materialistic" analogy :-)

Just teasin! :-)

Thanks for sharing,
TS,

i asked my dh this trick question once. what's most important thing for a good night's sleep. we went on -

memory foam mattress
no
tempurpedic pillow
no
clean bed
no
perfect room temp
no

he got tired after a while and the right answer was - the person should be sleepy! I agree it's critical to have a clear conscience too Wink

Some people will sleep if they find themselves in a comfortable bed like situation, any time of the day hehe.

My paternal bloodline has a bad reputation of sleeping too well.

From almost fainted like naps after drinking lassi in hot Delhi afternoons, to putting 3 alarms in the morning today. I still prefer to stay awake the whole night when my flight is before 7 AM.

It also has to do with age. I remember Delta Airlines folks giving me pillow and quilt at Atlanta Airport at 5 AM, as I slept on those uncomfortable seats with my bag under my feet, trying to catch my connecting flight.... every week....for 5 years...Platinum member, over a million miles, and first to be called to board...

Cant do it anymore.

So yes, sleep is indeed for sleepy.

Enough for now,
TS.
