Breaking news - special counsel Mueller may be fired

A longtime friend of President Trump said on Monday that Mr. Trump was considering whether to fire Robert S. Mueller III, the special counsel investigating possible ties between the president’s campaign and Russian officials. The startling assertion comes as some of Mr. Trump’s conservative allies, who initially praised Mr. Mueller’s selection as special counsel, have begun trying to attack his credibility.

it would be great if Orange tries to do that. showdown with congress is likely and repubs will be forced to decide between continuing support to Cheeto vs their own reelection chances in '18 and beyond.

I think DJT got too much of his TV show(Apprentice) and got used to that 'you are fired'. So he just want to fire anyone he doesnot like or does not follow his ideas. May be Deepak Chopra should do a session with DJT to detox him of 'Apprentice' effects! And that should be supervised by our Il Professore! That would an interesting meeting or session.

I welcome this move and can't wait for the passing of new American healthcare act or whatever the name is. These moves will let us know whether it is self-destruction or resurrection of America.

Deputy Attorney General Rod J. Rosenstein testified Tuesday that if the president ordered him to fire the special counsel handling the Russia investigation, he would only comply if the request was “lawful and appropriate.”
Asked what he would do if the president ordered him to fire Mueller, Rosenstein said, “I’m not going to follow any orders unless I believe those are lawful and appropriate orders.” He added later: “As long as I’m in this position, he’s not going to be fired without good cause,” which he said he would have to put in writing.
“If there were good cause,” I would consider it,” Rosenstein testified. “If there were not good cause, it wouldn’t matter to me what anybody says.”
If Trump fires Rosenstein for refusing to fire Mueller, then we will have a real constitutional crisis on our hands.
