...after listening - out of curiosity - to a few minutes of northindian film music featuring rakesh khanna, posted by Our Darlin' and boobsy a week ago. after puking, i listened to 22 mins of the beatles' rooftop concert; it made me whole again. here's the video:

they start with "get back." towards the end, at 17:22, after the cops have arrived on the rooftop, they launch into "get back! get back to where you once belonged" again, while the cops stand embarrassedly by. all is cool; good time had by all.

londoners on the street are taken by surprise by the music emanating from above, but they can't see the beatles on their tall rooftop, unless, like a few, they climbed to nearby rooftops.

no dancing in the streets, as there surely would have been, had it been new york or san francisco.

i've never known the differences among u2, sting, phil collins, and the fella with forgetable name who's connected with the u.n.'s millennium goals as angelina jolie is. they form one amorphous mass for me. i think they all have some irish connection.

moreover, i could find no mention of bono singing in an a cappella group. i don't like the man; he sang semi-religious songs, and he is, at best, a mediocre singer.

mediocre singer? his voice has a unique range (pitch and depth). he started by singing in his father's church choir. here, try this:

the song you posted above has guitar and percussion accompaniment, hence, is not a cappella.

here's the beatles' "because" sung a cappella by the beatles themselves. as far as i know, there's not a note of instrumental sound in it.

now, here's signor galeazzo frudua's tutorial on how three or four voices might produce the vocal harmonies that the beatles do in "because." he takes apart the three/four voices and sings the different parts, one by one, then puts them together into one splendid whole again, which is enormously greater than the sum of the parts. frudua himself sings all the parts, overdubbing them.

signor frudua would be quick to give all the credit to the beatles, for they composed the song.
