On this Valentine's Day, here is some news from India and Pakistan.

Saffron activists on Thursday forced young men and women who celebrated Valentine's Day to get "married" and held demonstrations in Andhra Pradesh.
At other places, Bajrang Dal, VHP and other saffron outfits held rallies condemning celebration of Valentine's Day.

It was not without some interesting twists. In one instance, the activists accosted Raju and Gautami, near Kapra Lake at ECIL crossroads. The two told the activists about their love for each other for the last three years and the opposition from their respective families.
The girl had run away from her home in Banjara Hills the previous night. The activists immediately performed their marriage at a nearby temple. The couple’s love story took a twist after their relatives lodged a complaint with the Kushaiguda police.
The family members picked up an argument with the activists and the couple inside the police station stating that they were siblings relation-wise. However, the two told presspersons that they were depressed after their parents refused to perform their marriage.
“We came to the lake to commit suicide but the activists came to our rescue,” Raju said. But, the girl’s family claimed she was a minor and pointed out that a missing complaint was already lodged at the Banjara Hills police station on Wednesday night. Senior police officials said the girl’s age was yet to be established and Raju was a suspect in the missing case.
In a separate incident, another couple approached the same police station requesting that their marriage be performed. The police politely declined to intervene. But, the Bajrang Dal activists assured them of conducting their marriage.

"Since the Bharatiya youth is turning towards indulgence by blindly following westerners, it has been noticed that the sale of contraceptives peaks on this day in cities such as Mumbai and Pune. This leads to a rise in incidents of rapes and other atrocities," HJS state convener Manoj Solanki said.

In Professor Witte’s study, of the 112 respondents in the kissing module, 24.1 percent said they kissed passionately “many times a day,” but when asked about kissing, hugging or caressing in public, 41.1 percent of participants chose “hardly ever or not at all.”
A pivotal screen kiss reflected the changing romantic landscape here. Kissing scenes were banned by Indian film censors until the 1990s, and Shah Rukh Khan, a Bollywood heartthrob who is one of the world’s biggest movie stars, has been teasing Indian audiences in dozens of films since then by bringing his lips achingly close to those of his beautiful co-stars. But his lips never touched any of theirs until he kissed the Bollywood bombshell Katrina Kaif in “Jab Tak Hai Jaan,” which was released in December 2012.
Mr. Khan tried to soften the impact by saying in a published interview that his director made him do it. But the cultural Rubicon had been crossed.
“That kiss was an incredibly important moment,” Dr. Srivastava said. “Shah Rukh Khan defines what is mainstream. If he does it, it becomes acceptable.”
Rajat and Neha say they plan to reveal their love to their parents sometime next year. In the meantime, they kiss — igniting a bonfire of yearning that fairly leaps off their lips.

by this logic, we are becoming america(or another western country that introduced v-day or celebrates it) by celebrating valentine's day.
just coz they stop kids from celebrating v-day and we do too, dont say we're becomign them. i dont like pakistan very much. dont like to be compared with them either.
