Okay, we will wait for the detailed report by possibly a reported Supreme Court judge after investigating all the root causes of these blasts and his recommendations for preventing such blasts in the future that would hurt no section of society.

what do you think? bomb blasts occur due to non political issues? maybe cricket rivalry?

Please please people.... stop guessing, politicizing, and hate-mongering.
These will only make muslims retaliate and only hindus will be affected. Sitting 7000 miles away it is easy for you guys to make expert comments but it is the hindus who get killed. It is best to minimize the damage by discussing the issues calmly with muslim leaders like Owaisi Akbar.
Who could forget the love and affection Muslims showed in Ajmer by showering RSS pracharaks/cadre with rose petals. So stop accusing/implying muslim collusion and preserve peace.
We should listen to Mulayam Sir ji and follow the path he recommended in 98 by helping Pakistan with $10 bil. Also, Muslims should be given a 20% quota in every institution and company.

I just got off phone with my parents. My cousin could hear the blast from Musaram bagh. Which is 3 miles away from Dilshukh Nagar. It must be a very powerful bomb.

With all that has been going on over the past few months, there was an air of inevitability about something like this happening. The disgusting thing is the political pressure which prevents police from catching the culprits.

This is distressing news. I hope the families of SuCHers are all safe.
A bomb in a "tiffin box" that killed several people suggests a fairly sophisticated operation, with high-yield explosives.

hyderabadis are very resilient. they'll recover from this minor setback and go about their business tomorrow. kiran reddy will not spare any expense and will receive full support from the center who will do everything possible to catch the perpetrators and is crafting a strongly worded condemnation of the incident.

They are going to find out if it's HUJI, IM, Owaisi, LeT, or somebody else. Then do what? Feed them dum-biriyani? Shinde claims he knew a major city was going to be hit by terrorists (as if he is the only one who is blessed with that secret knowledge).
A good way to deal with something like this is - have the State Home Minister, the State Police Chief, and the Chief CBI guy in the State replaced immediately. The existing ones didn't do their job.

there is almost no way to prevent all terrorist incidents anywhere in the world. even israel couldnt prevent incident and they're a tiny sliver of a country with best, committed brains in the world, quite a bit of money and external support and is in a state of permanent alert. india in a million years will not be able to prevent incidents. the security apparatus should be judged on the response and how they handle the investigation.

Re: Blasts in Hyderabad
I think the principle of political accountability would be a good one to have: the buck ought to stop with the political boss, the state Home Minister or some such. The problem with a rule like "bomb blast = DGP is out of a job" is that in situations where the DGP is a good guy, the value of a successful attack increases for the perpetrators, because that way they can displace a good cop in addition to killing people.indophile wrote:They are going to find out if it's HUJI, IM, Owaisi, LeT, or somebody else. I honestly don't think any democratic country with a semblance of liberty can prevent terrorist incidents like this one. But we should expect the government to find the perpetrators and bring them to justice. I am not worried about how much biryani they consume, as long as they are caught, prosecuted, convicted, and punished in accordance with the law. My worry is that they won't get the right guys. At most they will round up a few low-level operatives, while leaving the big bosses untouched to do more damage in future.

Great idea and makes very good sense to improve security overnight.
Therefore, it will never be implemented.

It's true that sometimes the baby gets thrown out with the bath water. But I don't see any way out. Otherwise it would turn out like the famous Krishnadevaraya quote in Amuktamaalyada. When something bad happens, everybody is busy CYAing, and the lowly beat constable might lose his job for not noticing the terrorist on a bike carrying a tiffin box.panini press wrote:I think the principle of political accountability would be a good one to have: the buck ought to stop with the political boss, the state Home Minister or some such. do you also feel that these are acts of cowards and will not bend the indomitable will of hyderabadis and will not disrupt the proudly secular fabric of the city?

More like two doormen to Shahi Imam Ahmed Bukhari exchanging fake concern.
