How will India vote at UN on SL war crimes?
Indian foreign minister did not say how it would vote at UN. He said "accountability must come from within Sri Lanka". If not what?
An angry DMK member Tiruchi Siva said in the Rajya Sabha, "Whether you want to have friendly relations with Sri Lanka or with your brethren in the South, decide yourself," adding, "Children are without limbs, women are losing what they should not."

I suspect India will abstain from the vote.

Even if India votes against SL, because of what it said so far, everyone know its heart is not in it, it does not give a damn about Tamils, it is voting for continued DMK support.
Interesting. DMK did not say it would withdraw supoort. I dont think it would.

Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper on Tuesday held firm on his threat to boycott the Commonwealth summit in Colombo later this year, rejecting calls to make nice with Sri Lanka.
But SL president Rajapaksa is a honoured guest in India

Here is a good article in NY Times by Manu Joseph:
http://www.nytimes.com/2013/02/28/world/asia/28iht-letter28.html?smid=tw-share&_r=0
Excerpts:
After 26 years of civil war between the Tamils, who are chiefly Hindus, and the Sinhalese majority, who are chiefly Buddhists, the Sri Lankan state won decisively in 2009. Human rights activists say that hundreds of Tamil fighters, political leaders and their families, including Mr. Prabhakaran and his family, did not die in action but were executed. They estimate that more than 40,000 Tamil civilians died in the final months of the war.
Within its borders, the Sri Lankan government appears to wink at its Sinhalese population to accept their congratulations for ending the war, but it maintains a righteous indignation when the world accuses its army of planned genocide.
It is not clear what such a resolution will achieve because Sri Lanka’s powerful president, Mahinda Rajapaksa, who has a rustic swagger about him and a manly black mustache, is the triumphant face of Sri Lanka’s victory in the war. The Sri Lankan Army is unambiguously under his control. Whatever the worth of the resolution, India is expected to support it more enthusiastically than it did a similar resolution last March.
This imagery had a stronger logic. India’s history with Sri Lanka is, in a way, about a bumbling giant being hurt by a cunning dwarf.
In a few days, when the United States introduces its new resolution against Sri Lanka, the brute forces of politics and practicality will ensure that the Indian government led by the Congress Party, whose leader is Sonia Gandhi, will join other nations in asking Sri Lanka to explain how exactly it eliminated the organization that made her a widow.

The Tamil Diaspora is watching and buzzing with all kinds of views and expectations following Mr. MMS's recent statements..trying to see what the Indian Govt is going to do.
This time, what they do will be more significant.

*Was also reading a few excerpts from the book "Island of Blood"- by journalist-reporter Ms. Anita Pratap..who recieved awards yesterday- IWD, and apparently was among the very few war-frontline reporters who met Mr. Prabakaran a few times and her personal accounts/insights into their meetings (seems balanced with the good and bad sides of him) are quite interesting.

I will try to read the book "Island of Blood"-
She met him way back in the 90s?? Or, did she meet more recently (that is after 2004 start of war)?
