Watched Yuva - yuck!

Watched Yuva over the weekend. I want the lost 2.5 hours of my life back! What a drivel! Can't believe it was made by Mani Ratnam.
The story was lame, the screenplay was lame, the songs were lame, the song picturizations were lame, the actors were all lame (possible exception of Madhavan).
Where are the typical trademarks if Mani Ratnam? The simple stories with tight narration, the extra special effort from music directors, the crisp dialogs, the gorgeous song picturizations and even lame actresses looking good?
It was like some talentless person made a movie and claimed it was made by Mani Ratnam.

Try Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge.
That's a pretty good movie....Lagaan is also good.

Lagaan i didnt see. i am sure it was boring like cricket always is without dhoni

Any film industry that calls Mani Ratnam a good film maker shouldnt be making films.

I remember thinking Anjali wasn't that bad. But Bombay, Dil Se, etc. were all crap, so I stopped bothering with his movies. I like the music though.

U have not seen lagaan? i watched it for the fourth time 2 weeks ago and the cricket match was still as nail biting. the flick is not so much about cricket. it's about the firangs and the mowglis and a tempestuous romance between them (tempestuous 'cos it breeds in brit. scorn, derision and brutality). btw, yuva sucked big time.
