Pope Francis seems to be more of a Christian than most people who occupied his office in the past. Greater role for women in the church, not standing in judgment over gay people, saying you can be good without being a Christian: Francis is bringing in some long-overdue change in the Roman Catholic church.

Now, the pope says the church has been too obsessed with gays and abortion.

Nuns working in hospitals took care of Francis when he lost most of one lung to an infection in his early 20s.
