First steps were taken to set the table for a major deal with Iran in 2014.

Cons: Iran is not known to follow through on its promises in the past.
Iran's internal political conflicts will not allow a deal to be reached.
Israel and its supporters will not allow a deal with Iran.
middle east dynamics will hinder progress.
Us rightwing will oppose it as they feel Iran cannot be trusted.

Finally, which sensible us politician can put his political future on the trustworthieness of Iran?


Pros: obama and Kerry. Both are not likely to fight any more elections.
Iran is desperate and wants to get back to normalcy with west.
Iran's commercial needs force it to abandon its anti west policies.
Eu nations such as Germany have significant interests in Iran's return to normal commerce.

Powerful anti forces on one side and historical commercial forces on the other side.
I predict a deal in 2014 or atleast in 2015.
