worst morning

car hit a mound of ice and the fender came off, actually most of the front. injury on my shoulder. I feel miserable, emotionally like it was my fault.

these things happen. you must take it in your stride. i remember the time when i rammed my motorcycle into barbed wire in the middle of the night. found myself flying in the air and when i landed my friend who was riding pillion landed on top of me. later i would require treatment for my fractured arm but at that point of time i remember i was obliged to do something rather unusual--riding back home with one operational hand, since my friend was not able to drive motorcycles.

Since that time i have always maintained focus while driving. It is like a meditation for me requiring my complete attention and concentration, particularly when driving on highways.

My friend later told me that when he found himself floating in the air he instinctively reached out to grab hold of me so that i could somehow cushion his fall.
