Indian diplomat Devyani Khobragade, whose arrest and strip-search last December soured India-U.S. relations, was re-indicted on visa fraud charges on Friday, a day after a U.S. court dismissed a similar indictment.
Federal prosecutors re-indicted her on charges of visa fraud and making false statements about the visa application of her domestic help.
A grand jury has returned a true bill on Friday on the two-count criminal indictment.
The fresh indictment, filed in a federal court in Manhattan, also charges her with submitting to the State Department an employment contract of her domestic worker which she knew contained “materially false and fraudulent statements.”
The 21-page indictment says the diplomat “knowingly made” multiple false representations and presented false information to U.S. authorities in order to obtain a visa for a personal domestic worker

this way she will hv a tough time reentering US. but her hubby has applied for indian citizenship.

The Indians goofed up.

The previous indictment was thrown out by the court bcz when it was done she had been transferred to the UN and waas given UN immunity. Hence it was thrown out.

Now, the same indictment is against an Indian national with no immunity (of defrauding a US-based Sangeeta). remember only some diplomats have immunity in respective foreign countries WHILE they are serving thre.

As of now Devyani is in India and has no immunity in US. Hence the new arrest warrant as the crime ws committed by Khabardar against the State dept while in India. It will be funny of the warrant is transferred to Interpol as she is not in US now...

Now it comes out that she has 2 passports (Indian and US) for her 2 girls which is a criminal offense in India - let alone a foreign service diplomat. So the Indian govt can charge her or force her to resign (she will then enter politics and get out of all charges).

Remember Pawars daughter had Singapore passport and Indian passport - she got out of that crap.
